Team BOLD, LLC Coaching Agreement and Terms of Service

BOLD COACHING AGREEMENT AND TERMS OF SERVICE.
I look forward to working with you as your coach. Thank you for trusting me with helping you find solutions to your personal, professional or career challenges. As part of our working together, it is important right at the outset to make sure we are on the same page and that we have clear understanding about what coaching is and what our respective roles are in the process.

COACHING DEFINITION AND EXPECTATIONS.
Coaching is a specific process of interaction, a partnership that encourages an awareness and perhaps even a shift in thinking for you regarding who you are, what you do and how you do it. This respectful, inquiring form of conversation and listening expands your ability to make significant changes, move forward in new areas and have more of what you want in your life. This is a thought-provoking and creative process. I am not the expert. My goal is to facilitate and support your ability to achieve your chosen goals.

As your coach, you can expect me to:

  1. Partner with you in the coaching process and respect the confidentiality of our conversations

  2. Commit to providing safety, encouragement and support; an environment in which you can relax and explore

  3. Give you input, feedback and operate as a sounding board for your needs

  4. Engage in listening fully and ask questions of you to both support and challenge you that may help you gain additional insight and growth

I expect that you, as my client will:

  1. Partner with me fully and commit to your own growth and learning

  2. Commit yourself to goals that are truly significant to you, that you cultivate real honesty with yourself, be open to hearing my feedback, explore new approaches and practice new behaviors

  3. Honestly tell me what is working about the coaching relationship and what is not working for you – bring up anything I may say or do that upsets you or does not feel right so we can discuss and discover a better way

  4. Take ownership for your progress and accomplishments - You are entering into coaching with the understanding that coaching is a relationship of equals where accountability for moving yourself forward lies with you and that you are responsible for your own decisions, physical, mental and emotional well-being, choices, actions and results. I am not guaranteeing any specific outcomes – it’s up to you to achieve your desired goals.

  5. Commit to the agreed upon meeting times being on time and remaining for the duration of the established meeting time

Coaching services are not in any way to be construed as, or in replacement for, psychotherapy, legal counsel, or medical advice. Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders nor is it a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, financial, spiritual or other qualified professionals. You should seek independent professional guidance for professional advice regarding your legal, financial, mental health or medical needs.

You are fully responsible for your physical, mental and emotional well-being during coaching sessions, including your choices, decisions and actions. You are responsible for creating your own decisions and results. You are free to reject any advice, suggestions or requests. Any advice, suggestions or requests are as-is, having no guaranteed outcome. You can choose to discontinue coaching at any time. YOU AGREE NOT TO HOLD ME, OR ANY COMPANY WITH WHOM I AM AFFILIATED, LIABLE FOR ANY OUTCOMES RESULTING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM THE COACHING PROCESS.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY POLICY.
Unless you give me your express permission, our coaching relationship and anything that you share with me in a coaching session are strictly confidential, except under very specific circumstances such as illegal activity, a valid court order or subpoena, imminent or likely risk of danger to yourself or others. If I reasonably believe that one of these unusual circumstances exists, I may need to inform appropriate authorities. You, of course, are free to discuss your coaching with whomever you want.

PREPARATION AND SESSION PROCEDURE FOR ONE ON ONE COACHING SESSIONS.
All of my coaching packages and sessions are purchased online. Session scheduling is also online. Details for purchasing and scheduling and making scheduling changes are attached to this coaching agreement.

After you purchase your coaching package, you agree to honor your commitment to coaching by:

  • Scheduling your sessions online,

  • Being available in person, by video conference or by phone for each session, and

  • Participating fully in your coaching sessions, which includes filling out a coaching session prep form 1 – 2 days prior to each coaching session.

The prep form helps you form your thoughts for our session. I will automatically receive a copy of this form when you fill it out and will keep your information strictly confidential.

After our first session, please be prepared in our following sessions with a report of your progress and a specific goal in mind for the next session. The session prep form will help you capture your thoughts. Often there is some kind of “fieldwork” or homework agreed upon between sessions.  I also will provide you with an action steps form for you to use for your personal use in taking notes during each of our sessions, if that would be helpful. I do not need a copy of this form from each session.

You agree to give at least 24 hours notice if an unexpected circumstance prevents you from attending a scheduled session. If this occurs, you can cancel or reschedule your session using the link in your scheduled session confirmation email.

Finally, the time and location of our sessions will be scheduled and therefore agreed upon in advance based on availability on my online calendar and your choice of meeting.

  • If we are meeting in person, you agree to meet at that location at the scheduled time.

  • If we are meeting via video conference, you agree to follow the link in the confirmation email at the agreed upon session time.

  • If we are meeting by phone, you will call me when you are settled into a quiet, private space.

If I expect to be at a different number, I will let you know well in advance of our appointment.

SCHEDULE AND FEES.
If you are unclear about the program, your commitments, my scope of services or the fees, you must inform me before we start the engagement so that we can clear it up or resolve any misunderstanding.

CANCELLATION POLICY.
I have blocked out my time for YOU. If something happens and you need to cancel or reschedule a session, you shall give me a 24-hour notice. And if you are more than 15 minutes late without proper notice, your scheduled time may be forfeited. I charge $50 for missed sessions or late cancellations. I will certainly notify you promptly if I need to reschedule a session, which fortunately rarely happens. You may terminate this agreement at any time, for any reason. Fees paid, excluding deposits or special package rates, will be prorated and refunded based on the number of session already completed and the number of sessions remaining. You will be refunded for the sessions remaining. All engagements are automatically considered complete and closed 90 days after the initial package purchase unless an explicit extension is agreed upon in writing.

GOVERNING LAW.
The laws of the state of Texas govern this agreement (without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles).

FEEDBACK.
At the conclusion of our engagement, I will send you an invitation to complete a short survey regarding your experience. I would greatly appreciate your feedback – it allows me to learn from the process and improve my services on a continuous basis. I would also appreciate referrals. Feel free to recommend me to appropriate friends and colleagues, and let them know I offer a free 30-minute confidential consultation.

Please review and accept this coaching agreement by signing or e-signing below BEFORE our first coaching session. By signing, you agree to me listing your full name and email in my ongoing ICF certification log and to using your image and/or comments as testimonials identified by your first name only and your general leadership position for use in digital and print marketing materials.
